As I begin to write Christmas cards and put away the Thanksgiving dishes, I have been thinking about perhaps changing the NYE resolutions to End of the Year Resolutions. Seems like it might be easier to look back and see what things you would like to do more often. Or things you would like to do differently. Or things you would like too never do again.
For me, I continue to desire to explore the United States. We have such a beautiful Nation and I have really enjoyed the National Parks system! I would also continue to explore Europe and the many places that I haven’t been to yet. I want to continue to see different cultures and taste different culinary delights. I would continue to spend 5 months in the Midwest exploring the lakes and rivers of Wisconsin. Visiting fun superclubs and thrift stores. Enjoying more campfires while watching the sunsets. More gazing at the night sky watching for shooting stars and meteor showers. More nurturing my vegetable gardens and standing on the paddle board. And making more memories with my local friends and family!
I would love to visit Spain again just differently than I did this past October. Perhaps rent a car and drive around the entire border and then split the country in half by driving through the middle of it. I would love to more taste Spanish Cava and maybe find a few wineries to visit.
I would like to send out MORE birthday cards than I ever have. This would mean that I made some more friends than I did the year before! I cherish the friendships that I have made in this lifetime. I would like to spend more times with friends enjoying different experiences and laughing until my stomach hurts.
I am hoping that perhaps I have finally learned that lesson that I needed to so and that I would never repeat it again. (You can fill in the blanks in your life if you agree.)
As we go out shopping or through our daily routines I hope that this year you have found some great things that you would like to do MORE often, that you have made some new friends to send a Birthday card to and that your memory bank is so full it is running over with great times and funny moments. So let’s get out there and repeat our End of the year resolutions in 2024!
